Port Louis development, Grenada At Port Louis, Grenada, a land reclamation is projected, including revetment, quay wall and jetty structures. Lievense Consulting Engineers has been commissioned by Volker Stevin Construction Europe to design and engineer the seaside perimeter structures of the land reclamation. Furthermore, Lievense was requested to investigate the effect of reclamation and increased bottom depth due to dredging works on wave disturbance within St. George’s Bay (Carenage, St. George’s Pier and The Lagoon) and on hydraulic residence times of The Lagoon.
Activities carried out by Lievense:
- Predict wave conditions for the revetment, quay wall and jetty using MIKE 21 NSW and MIKE 21 BW
- Determine design criteria
- Hydraulic and geotechnical design of revetment
- Design of quay wall
- Design of jetty
- Wave disturbance study
- Flushing rate analysis
Activities:
- wave modelling studies
- design of coastal protection
- lagoon flushing analysis
