Watermanagement
The Netherlands exist with water. To keep the Dutch water system under control many measures will have to be taken in the next few years. These consist of “waterkerende” measures, like dikes and works of art, as well as measures to control the water, like for instance reservoirs for superfluous water and pumping-stations. The task is laid down in the National “Bestuursakkoord Water en Kaderrichtlijn Water”. Our country will shortly be faced with other challenges too: urban water plans, initiations in the field of sewer renovation programmes and the “afkoppelen” of rainwater.
Lievense has used her capacities, among others, for the project “Safety of the Netherlands in Map”. In the field of hydraulic engineering and infrastructure of pipelines Lievense focuses on the testing of safety of the water system and the water chain. Examples of plan making are water plans directed by urban or river areas, plans for sewerage and modelling studies. In the field of research, too, we are represented in this branch, among other things with projects to improve quay walls and questions in the domain of draining and salvage capacity.
The realization of these projects in the shape of designing activities for physical projects are an important challenging expertise for our company. Think in this way of sewerages, pressure pipelines, pumping stations, watercourses, water controlling systems, quays and dikes.
